The group first came together in 2016, forming what Brian Baker has described as a “mutual admiration society.” Despite their extensive individual histories, the chemistry was immediate. Once they were in the same room, it felt as though they had been playing together for years.
With Punk Ruins, FAKE NAMES continue to build on that foundation, bringing together five distinct musical backgrounds without allowing any one of them to define the band.
The result is a record that connects the raw spirit of punk’s past with the urgency of the present.
